Turkey Trot

After speaking with some other parents... we all agreed that none of us recall having all this excitement and all these activities while growing up... boy, did we get gypped, haha!

Lately, I feel like I'm taking time off work every other day just to keep up with all that's going on with Sophia... which, of course, I am excitedly happy to and feel fortunate that I have the flexibility to do so. Because it's these little moments that will soon be the memories we look back on and wonder where the time went... gotta be 100% present in the moment as much as possible... while going trigger-happy on the camera button, HAHA!!! Hey (!!), it's better to have too many than too little, right?!?? Hehe...

Anyways... onto the point of this post--to show off the adorableness of my cookie =D And this is also where I must warn the reader--this post will contain the most amount of photos to date (don't worry, only posted a minimum amount compared to what was actually shot). It was an event, I can't stop myself (shrug)... you put a camera into an Asian's hands and it's over, haha!!

Off they go to the track... notice Sophia is at the head of the line =)

Nylah (right)--one of her BFFs... yes, she's that much taller than my wee one

Gotta love that turkey head garment... only kids can get adults to  put a toy stuffed bird on their heads, lol

Building a pyramid of donated canned goods

Ella (left)--another of Sophia's BFFs... heard from the teacher that they had to be separated due to the abundant amount of chitter chatter among these two... hmmm... =)

Ribbon cutting in the background

And.... OFF THEY GO!!!

That's my most FAVORITE smile in the whole wide world!!

Look at her go!!

If I'm not mistaken, I think...

...this little boy in blue and Sophia...

...are first crushes?? Haha... How cute is that??

Accomplishment medals!

Gotta show it off! =P

Perfect post-exercise snack

YAY!!!

Sophia and her classmates and teacher... can you spot her?
Glad I was able to get this up tonight to share with friends and family!

Thanks for stopping by and letting this doting mama show off her little sprout!

'Til the next time...

Butterfly Clothes Pins

For those of you that haven't had the pleasure of Pinterest... hurry your butts over there, sign up, and start browsing!! It's good awesome for basically anything you're interested in--cooking, cleaning, organizing, baking, beauty, fashion, crafting, entertaining children, or even how to make an escape rope from a shoe lace, rubbing alcohol, and a glue gun... haha, okay, maybe not the last one, but it could probably come pretty freakin' close... as any Pinterest user would agree!

Anyways... now that I have confessed my love and passion for Pinterest... onto what this post is actually about...

While scrolling through all the posts on Pinterest, I'll come across some spiffy ideas for Sophia to craft out of simple things =) The most recent one is making butterflies out of clothes pins.

Excitedly, we searched and searched throughout our home for the seventy that I know we have somewhere... to no avail. Next best thing... we trip it to Michael's. Get there and find out they are out of stock... WHAT?? Okay, no problem, good thing there is a Target just a few doors down... this conglomerate has got to have it in stock... right??? I was starting to get nervous... Sophia has been expecting to do this project for over a week and didn't want to see her disappointment.

We were directed to the laundry aisle, and... TA-DA! There they were... I actually didn't see them, Eli had to point out the package of fifty that was directly in front of my face and at eye level (!!!)... um... I'm going to just mention here that I was a little tired...

After getting home from our clothes pin hunt, we showered to wash off the day and get into our comfy pajamas. While snacking on grapes, strawberries and nuts, butterfly clothes pin makin' ensued...

Her newest pajamas--as said by Sophia, "I'm panda all over"  with a BIG smile

I could hear it in her voice how happy and excited she was to finally be making this butterfly =) She's just absolutely heartwarming and precious!! =D

This one is for her "daddy"--can you see the writing on the left wing?

'Til the next time...

Being Responsible...

...that's what my little cookie is, per her kinder teacher, Mr. Vasquez.

Today, I crouched there in front of the entire school, alongside other parents whose children were also receiving well-deserved recognition. I am definitely one for positive reinforcement!

And here's my little cookie...

Can you spot her? Hehe...

And here's a completely choppy clip... was so excited, didn't know when to really hit the record button... boo...

I am so proud of her!

Forneris Farm

Before Halloween came and went, I found out about a little pumpkin patch, Forneris Farms. And as you might have guessed... Forneris, we go!

Seeing how we're technically in Fall right now, I didn't take into much consideration the weather because it's suppose to be cool-ish weather... right? WRONG!! It was hot and being in the shade didn't do much other than slightly decrease the speed of sweat coming out of every pore in our bodies. And poor little bumpkins had such red cheeks from all the running and playing they did.

First thing that they decided to do was the kiddie hay maze ^_^

Sophia wanted to go round and round, but I don't think Ana was up for battling the heat--that didn't stop Sophia from convincing her to follow suit, though. Actually, I'm pretty surprised that Sophia didn't give in to the heat herself... guess her enthusiasm for outdoor activities outweighed the beating sun. Poor Ana was dragged along...

Following that, there was a hay stack pyramid that Sophia didn't hesitate to climb to the top. For a minute, I thought she was going to freak out and get scared when she reached the top and looked down... but, oh, how I was wrong, haha!

**Loved Sophia's "ta-da" at the end... sign of an attained goal hehe...

Next up was the little 4-wheel cart track... not too much happened (as you'll see in the video below, haha). Ana, once again, tried to voice to Sophia how she didn't want to do it because it was hot. What resulted? Yep, Ana got suckered into it again, poor Ana. Even Eli tried to help...

After that fail (haha), the girls headed over to the rabbits. There was actually some pretty impressive animals in the petting area but the girls were too afraid and opted to just stay contained in the rabbit area.

Finally... one can't ever leave a farm without taking a pony ride!!

See y'all on the next outing!
